Understanding CVS

Here is a brief overview of CVS, to help you better understand the policies, deals and terminology.

First off - do you have a CVS card? If not, go into any CVS store (or you can do it online, but you have to wait for your card) and fill in the application. With your CVS card, you're able to take advantage of all the deals currently available at CVS (Make sure you always have them scan your card first!), along with obtain ECBs.

What are ECBs you may ask? Extra Care Bucks! These are scrumptious little coupons that print out after a purchase. You can use this coupon on your next purchase just like cash at any CVS. For instance, let's say CVS is advertising "Crest Toothpaste. Buy one at $3.99, get $3.99 ECBs." You purchase said toothpaste and along with your reciept pops an ECB worth $3.99! If you have a $1 coupon on top of that, well, you paid OOP (out of pocket) $2.99 and got back $3.99! FUN! You're now able to take that $3.99 ECB and use it on your next purchase. We would label this as a "money-maker". Although you're not really making cash dollars, you're able to use the ECB to further your savings on future purchases.

An even more in depth look into how to use CVS to it's greatest potential can be found at >MoneySavingMoms blog, here. I suggest reading it!
